The AVALON 2023 Australian International Airshow and Aerospace & Defence Exposition is a biennial event held in Geelong, Victoria, Australia that features a wide range of aircraft and aerospace technologies. In 2019, the event attracted nearly 40,000 industry professionals from the public and private sector, with over 700 participating companies. Over 350 aircraft were on display in the air and on the ground. The Exposition will be held from 28thFebruary to 5th March 2023.

The 2023 iteration of the AVALON Aerospace & Defence Exposition is expected to be the largest in its history. Major industry sponsors and exhibitors include Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, Boeing, Pratt & Whitney, General Dynamics, Thales, Airbus and BAE Systems. The event is supported by the Government of Australia and the State of Victoria.

- Australia has a ten-year US$190 billion defense acquisition plan looking forward to FY 2029-30.
- Annual total defense expenditure is of the order of US$25–30 billion and growing. Defense acquisition and sustainment is a large part of this figure.
