From October 17–25, 2025, a delegation of innovative small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from Alabama will visit Sydney and other Australian cities to explore commercial partnerships in some of the world’s most advanced and fast-growing sectors. Organised by the Alabama Department of Commerce in partnership with the U.S. Department of Commerce and supported in-market by Foley, the mission presents an exciting platform for Australian companies to connect with leading U.S. innovators.
Focus on Critical and Emerging Technologies (CETs)
The Alabama delegation will comprise companies operating in Critical and Emerging Technologies (CET), as identified by the U.S. National Science and Technology Council. These sectors include:
Advanced Manufacturing & Materials: From lightweight metal fabrication to next-gen additive manufacturing.
Aerospace & Aviation: Including MRO, propulsion, satellite systems, and space-related manufacturing.
Biotechnology & Life Sciences: Covering pharma, medical devices, genomics, and biotech commercialization.
Information & Communications Technology (ICT): Encompassing data centers, telecommunications, cybersecurity, and smart infrastructure.
These sectors align closely with Australia’s own national priorities in defence, clean energy, medtech, and digital transformation, opening the door to high-value cross-border partnerships.
